Planning Guide Requirements

• Size: 16"x20"

• Mixed media - pencil, acrylic stamping, newspaper or magazine collage, and soft pastels

• Use the WORDS AS TRIGGERS page to begin this assignment.

• Background: can be like a photo you have, it can be a gradient, or completely made-up from imagination

• The artwork must be from your own photographs or minimal reference from an outside source. 

• Due Monday, January 22, 2018

Steps 1: Words as triggers list

Step 2: Practice thumbnail sketches/brainstorming

Step 3: Samples - 3 large drawings of ideas, must take up a whole page in sketchbook and the best one should in color

Step 4: Make a stamp with your final sketch idea being used for inspiration

Step 5: Redraw final sketch idea on final paper in pencil

Step 5: Choose one - a.) collage magazine or newspaper onto drawing or background, then stamp all over paper in rows  OR  b.) stamp all over drawing in rows, then collage on top of stamp

Step 6: Optional - watered down acrylic if needed in select areas

Step 7: Finish main drawing and background with soft pastel
