When we make an artwork in color we should always make it about color. To make an artwork about color use a color scheme.

• Why?

• To show feelings or connect meaning

• Can create contrast

• To unify an artwork

• Primary colors

• Secondary colors

• Complementary colors

• Analogous colors

  • Warm​

  • Cool​

  • 3-4 colors next to each other on the color wheel

• Monochromatic​

• Achromatic (not always a choice, except in value assignments)

• Split-complement
